The developers have published the first test version of the new Cave update Minecraft 1.17. Update Minecraft 1.17.0.50 is available on Android and adds Amethysts, crude ore, a telescope and much more to the game!
New underground structures consisting of three layers.

Amethysts grow on either side of a blooming amethyst. Include 4 stages of growth:
An amethyst cluster can be mined with an iron pickaxe or better. It drops 4 amethyst shards or more if the corresponding tool is enchanted with a good luck charm.
Allows to view objects in the distance.

Iron, copper and gold ores have been remade and now raw metals are falling out of them. Raw metals can be melted in a furnace.

A new block generated at a value below Y = 16 in the dungeons, which can be extracted with a pickaxe.
A new glass block that does not let in rays of light. Mobs cannot see the player through such a glass.
Unlike ordinary glass, this block can be obtained without the Silk Touch enchantment.
The following innovations are now available in the game without the Caves and Cliffs option in world editing:

Amethyst geodes
New underground structures consisting of three layers.
- The outer layer consists of smooth basalt
- The middle layer consists of calcite
- The inner hollow layer consists of blooming amethysts, amethyst blocks and buds
Amethysts
Amethysts grow on either side of a blooming amethyst. Include 4 stages of growth:
- Amethyst bud is the first three stages of growth
- The amethyst cluster is the fourth and last stage of the growth of the amethyst bud

Spyglass
Allows to view objects in the distance.
- A spyglass can be created from copper ingots and an amethyst fragment
- While using the telescope, the player's movement slows down
- The "Spyglass Damping" option has been added to the game settings in the "Keyboard and Mouse" section, which allows you to adjust the rotation speed with a telescope
Crude ore
Iron, copper and gold ores have been remade and now raw metals are falling out of them. Raw metals can be melted in a furnace.
- Blocks of unprocessed metals have been added: unprocessed copper, unprocessed iron and unprocessed gold
- Now, instead of blocks, raw metals fall out of the ores, which can be melted in the furnace, as before
- Ore blocks will still be able to be melted down and this means that you will still be able to melt ore from the old worlds
Tuf
A new block generated at a value below Y = 16 in the dungeons, which can be extracted with a pickaxe.
