Minecraft PE Beta 1.17.0.50

The developers have published the first test version of the new Cave update Minecraft 1.17. Update Minecraft 1.17.0.50 is available on Android and adds Amethysts, crude ore, a telescope and much more to the game!

Amethyst geodes

New underground structures consisting of three layers.

The outer layer consists of smooth basalt
The middle layer consists of calcite
The inner hollow layer consists of blooming amethysts, amethyst blocks and buds

Amethysts

Amethysts grow on either side of a blooming amethyst. Include 4 stages of growth:

Amethyst bud is the first three stages of growth
The amethyst cluster is the fourth and last stage of the growth of the amethyst bud

An amethyst cluster can be mined with an iron pickaxe or better. It drops 4 amethyst shards or more if the corresponding tool is enchanted with a good luck charm.

Spyglass

Allows to view objects in the distance.

A spyglass can be created from copper ingots and an amethyst fragment
While using the telescope, the player's movement slows down
The "Spyglass Damping" option has been added to the game settings in the "Keyboard and Mouse" section, which allows you to adjust the rotation speed with a telescope

Crude ore

Iron, copper and gold ores have been remade and now raw metals are falling out of them. Raw metals can be melted in a furnace.

Blocks of unprocessed metals have been added: unprocessed copper, unprocessed iron and unprocessed gold
Now, instead of blocks, raw metals fall out of the ores, which can be melted in the furnace, as before
Ore blocks will still be able to be melted down and this means that you will still be able to melt ore from the old worlds

Tuf

A new block generated at a value below Y = 16 in the dungeons, which can be extracted with a pickaxe.

Tinted glass

A new glass block that does not let in rays of light. Mobs cannot see the player through such a glass.

Unlike ordinary glass, this block can be obtained without the "Silk Touch" charm.

Experimental functions

The following innovations are now available in the game without the "Caves and Cliffs" option in world editing:

Improvements and bug fixes

In the update, the developers made 72 changes and fixed bugs. Under the spoiler below you will find the main one.

List of changes

If you catch an Axolotl with a bucket, then the achievement "I am a marine biologist" will no longer open
The probability of the appearance of Axolotls has been increased
Axolotls no longer impose regeneration on themselves after killing a target
Now, when breeding Axolotls, experience is given
Cobwebs no longer hang in the air in mines
The copper surface of the blocks now loses oxidation when struck by lightning in a more random way
Fixed the operation of horizontally placed lightning rods that did not remove oxidation from copper blocks.
Copper blocks hit by lightning now lose oxidation, even if there is no lightning rod
Copper stairs now emit unique footstep sounds in Y values less than 0
Deep shale, deep shale brick and deep shale tile now give experience from smelting in the furnace
Crushed slate can now be used as a resource for creating tools, ovens and cooking racks
If the 'fallDamage' game rule is set to false, then when falling on the dropper, the player will no longer receive damage
Droppers now have the right names
Only the tips of stalagmites deal increased fall damage
Boilers are now filled with water from dripping stalactites a little faster
The textures of the glowing frames now look the same in Java and Bedrock

The growth rate is random, but very slow, one growth step can take several Minecraft game days
Fixed a crash that sometimes occurred when deleting an entity with a table (scoreboard) from a level
Foxes can now walk on loose snow
Glowing lichen will no longer hang in the air
Fixed a bug that caused the player to continue slowing down after re-entering the world when receiving a slowdown from freezing
New burning, freeze and drowning damage sounds have been added.
