The long-awaited new version Minecraft Pocket Edition 1.0 for mobile devices and Windows 10 is finally here! This update brings exciting new features that will send you on fresh adventures in the world of MCPE!

The MCPE Store now lets you download in-game music. Note that the music pack is 78MB, so we recommend using WiFi for downloading.
When creating a world, you can now enter a custom seed in MCPE. This is super useful if you want to start in a village, near a dungeon, and more!
All players in Minecraft Pocket Edition 1.0 (0.17.0) now have the option to switch the game’s UI. You can use the standard interface or switch to the new classic style.
To change the interface, open the settings in MCPE 1.0, go to the Video tab, and click Show Advanced Video Settings. Then select UI Profile and choose either Pocket or Classic.
Now the in-game interface can look just like the PC version of Minecraft. You can switch back anytime you want.
The main advantage of the classic UI is that it gives you a search bar in Creative Mode inventory—super handy, and something that wasn’t available in Minecraft for Android before!
Starting from MCPE 1.0.4, trading is now in the game, so you can exchange items with villagers. Super cool!
Let’s set out on an adventure to the coldest place in Minecraft Pocket Edition 1.0. It might seem lifeless, but not anymore. Now, polar bears live here! You can find them in any snowy biome.
Polar bears can be friendly, neutral, or hostile. Cubs are friendly, adults are neutral unless provoked. If you attack a cub, all adults nearby will become aggressive.
- All adults become hostile if a cub is attacked within a 41×21×41 area.
- An adult will also become aggressive if the player is within 21×21×21 blocks and a cub is nearby (within 16×8×16 blocks).
Polar bears can attack not just players but also other mobs. They swim faster than players, so fighting them can be tricky if your health is low. They attack by standing on their hind legs and striking with their front paws.
In snowy biomes, you can also find a new structure: the Igloo. Igloos have a single room, but some spawn with a stone basement (50% chance) accessible through a trapdoor under a carpet. Down there you’ll find a silverfish spawner, loot chest, cauldron, brewing stand with a weakness potion, red carpets, spruce stairs, spruce slabs, and a priest villager with a zombie villager locked behind iron bars.
Now it’s time to travel to the End! The End is a dark, barren third dimension in MCPE, made up of a huge island (150–250 blocks in diameter). Here you’ll encounter Endermen, Endermites, Shulkers, and the boss—the Ender Dragon!
After you defeat the Ender Dragon, you can visit an End City and find Elytra, which lets you glide through the sky!
In the beta version MCPE 1.0.4.1, a new “Storage” menu appeared in settings, which lets you manage all your worlds, resource packs, and add-ons. Super convenient!
