Starting with the Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.17.0 update, elytra have finally appeared in the game. What do they do? Elytra allow players to fly for certain distances in the world of Minecraft.

How to get elytra?

Elytra can be found on each of the airships in End cities in the End dimension. Currently, this is the only legitimate way to obtain elytra.

To get to an End city, you first need to defeat the Ender Dragon, and only then will you be able to reach the city. If you're ready to overcome all these difficulties, don't forget to bring equipment and several Eyes of Ender.

Elytra hang in an item frame on the airship, but before that, you'll encounter a shulker that you need to kill.

If you want to get elytra quickly, use the command /give @p elytra 1.

How to use elytra?

First, you need to equip them. This is done just like with armor.

Now climb somewhere high and jump off a cliff. To activate the elytra, simply press the jump button once and you'll automatically enter flight mode.
