Map: City of Saratov
Welcome to “Saratov,” a map that takes you to one of the main cities of the Volga region, right on the river's right bank. The city started out back in the sixteenth century as a border fortress, later grew wealthy on the fish, salt and grain trade, and all of that left its mark on the way it looks. In the historic center, buildings from different eras stand side by side, and next to them stretch the familiar residential blocks, wide streets and views out over the water, with Engels just visible on the far bank.
Wandering through a city like this is a pleasure even with no particular destination, and if you've been to the real Saratov, hunting for familiar spots is a treat all its own.
Note that only part of Saratov is included here, and Engels has not been recreated. Saratov was generated using the Arnis tool.
