Announcement of the New Update and More!
We've been waiting for this all year, and unfortunately, Minecon 2018 has come to an end. But don't be upset, because the Minecraft team showed us a lot of new and exciting things!
New Minecraft Game!
The developers announced a new game set in the Minecraft universe - Minecraft: Dungeons!
This is a completely new adventure game inspired by classic dungeons, where you will constantly discover new weapons and items to help defeat armies of terrible mobs. You can go on the adventure alone or team up with friends.

Taiga Update!
Yes, it was predictable. In the vote for the update of one of three biomes, the taiga won! This biome update will bring foxes, berries, and campfires to the game!
Improved Add-ons!
We've been waiting for this for a long time, because Bedrock (formerly Pocket Edition) doesn't have official mod support, only Add-ons allowed players to make small additions that replaced mobs, blocks, and items. Now everything will be different!
With the new add-on capabilities, every player can create completely new creatures! Moreover, you can create a spawn egg for each new mob. But that's not all! Each mob can now have its own animation (combat, movement, etc.), be given particle effects, and do other interesting things!
The new features will appear in the next beta of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, which will be released on October 3rd!
Did you think that was all? Ha-ha! We've been asking the developers to do this for a long time, and after "freaking out" and "sweating," they did it! Introducing the scripting API. Unfortunately, there is no more information about this at the moment, but it will come a little later (we waited 3 years, we can wait a couple more months).
INSPIRATION ISLAND
The "Inspiration Island" map will come to the Minecraft Marketplace at the end of this year and will be free for everyone! If you're new to Creative mode or just want some inspiration, visit this wonderful floating island! And for mini-game lovers, there are plenty of "entertainments" created here.
MINECRAFT: VILLAGE AND PILLAGE
Jens "Jeb" Bergensten and Agnes Larsson took the stage and talked about the next major Minecraft update, which aims to add a bunch of new villagers to the game! The "Village and Pillage" update will fill the Overworld villages with new friendly folk. Now each biome will have its own variations of villagers!
Here are examples of villagers that inhabit the jungle.
Top row left to right: librarian, butcher, priest, cartographer, leatherworker, and fletcher. Bottom row left to right: shepherd, farmer, fisherman, armorer, toolsmith, and weaponsmith.
Pillagers will be armed with a new weapon - crossbows. But don't worry, because you can also craft and use crossbows! Using a crossbow takes longer than using a bow, but its power is much higher!
Additionally, pillagers will have a huge Beast that will attack villagers and destroy farms.
The mob itself somewhat resembles a buffalo, but with a villager's face.
Pandas and More Cats!
Bamboo forests and pandas will now appear in jungle biomes! Moreover, there will be even more cat types. We'll learn more about this over the next few weeks.
The "Village and Pillage" update itself will be released in early 2019 for Java and Bedrock Edition, and in the fall for Console Edition.
