Add-ons Didn't Appear in Minecraft

At Minecon 2018, which took place on September 29, developers announced that a new test version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition would be released on October 3, featuring improved Add-ons. But the update never came out. Where did it go?

Back on August 23, beta version 1.7 was released, and it's still in testing mode. It's been two months, Carl!

Remember the Super Duper Graphics Pack? Well, you can forget about it until the next Minecon. The developers themselves admitted they don't have enough time, and developing such shaders requires updating the entire game's graphics engine.

Don't forget that in August, the Bedrock team promised to redesign the game's menu. So where is it? Right, it's still not here.

The 1.7 update itself is supposed to bring the Scoreboard mechanic to the game. But guess what? Right, the mechanic came out completely stripped down, and no one in their right mind will use it now. Of course, the developers promised to improve it, but it's been two months, and what, where are the improvements?

Basically, the point of this news is that everything developers announce never comes out right away, and you shouldn't hope that things will get better soon. No, let's list everything they "promised" us:

• New game menu interface - not released.
• Server core - released heavily stripped down and no one will use it now.
• Mod (Plugin) API - promised to be released this year. Now remember what they said about improved add-ons and shaders.
• Scoreboard - released buggy and useless.
• Super Duper Graphics Pack - promised a year ago, now promised "someday".
• Map markers - were supposed to come with the "Update Aquatic".

So where are the improved Add-ons? 50/50 they'll come out this month, but something tells me it won't happen even this year. The company can't finish the Scoreboard, yet they're trying to add other functionality.

So the bottom line is that due to the multitude of platforms, developers can't do anything properly. If they can't even release map markers, what will happen when the Mod API comes out? It will be just as stripped down as the Scoreboard, and most players will forget about it after a while.
