Minecraft PE 0.16.0 Release Coming in October!
Right after the first day of Minecon 2016, the developers of Minecraft Pocket Edition shared the official release date for update 0.16.0!
Update 0.16.0, called Boss Update, will be released on October 18 on all current platforms (Android, iOS, Fire OS, Windows 10, and Windows Phone).
For the first time in the game, the Wither boss will appear, as well as the mini-boss Elder Guardian. The developers have also added an underwater fortress, console commands, and much more that players have known about since the first beta build of 0.16.0.
The game will also feature the first integration of Add-Ons. With these add-ons, you can change the parameters of mobs, monsters, and much more. By editing simple text files, you can customize the game to your liking and create amazing maps. For example, you can make explosive chickens like creepers, or make villagers run at high speed. You can also play with these add-ons with your friends.
On October 18, the day of the update's release, the developers will release two special maps that will demonstrate all the possibilities of add-ons. These maps include an alien invasion and a castle siege. They were created by talented people and teams such as SethBling, BlockWorks, and Mindcrack.
The game update includes broader support for virtual reality. Now you can play in VR headsets with an Xbox Wireless Controller connected via Bluetooth.
