Spring Minecraft Live 2026 Recap

On May 30, 2026, a special edition of Minecraft LIVE took place in Rotterdam, coinciding with TwitchCon. Mojang Studios developers shared fresh news about upcoming updates, game and movie sequels, and announced new collaborations. We've gathered all the highlights from the broadcast for you.

Chaos Cubed Release Date

The summer drop Chaos Cubed finally has a release date!

• Release is set for June 16, 2026.
• The update will launch simultaneously for Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
• Sulfur caves, sulfur cubes, sulfur geysers, cinnabar and sulfur blocks will appear.

Third Game Drop of 2026

Get ready for outdoor adventures. 🍂

With the third game drop this year, we're heading to the Dappled Forest biome! This rust-toned biome is full of beauty and mystery.

• Dappled Forest:
  • A variant of the regular forest, consisting of poplar trees and red shrub bushes.
• Abandoned Camp:
  • A structure that generates in the Dappled Forest.
• Poplar Tree:
  • A tree that spawns in the Dappled Forest.
• Red Shrubs:
  • A bush-like plant found in Dappled Forests.
• Poplar Wood Set:
  • Poplar sapling.
  • Poplar leaves: come in red, orange, and yellow colors.
  • Poplar log and stripped poplar log.
  • Poplar wood and stripped poplar wood.
  • Poplar planks.
  • Poplar stairs, slabs, signs, hanging signs, buttons, pressure plates, doors, fences, gates, and trapdoors.
  • Poplar shelf.
• Wool stairs in 16 colors.
• Wool slabs in 16 colors.
• Poplar boat and poplar boat with chest.

A Minecraft Movie Squared

The sequel to the film "A Minecraft Movie" will be called "A Minecraft Movie Squared"!

• Jack Black and Jason Momoa are returning as Steve and Garrett respectively.
• Matt Berry returns to an undisclosed role (previously voiced the Nitwit).
• Kirsten Dunst will play Alex!

Minecraft Movie Build Challenge

Everyone has a chance to see their build in the movie or in the end credits through the Minecraft Movie Build Challenge!

What to do:

• Build something unique in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition
