Minecraft Beta 1.11.0.4 - What's New?

Spring has arrived! Developers are gradually preparing Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition for the release of a major new update called "Village and Pillage". Today a new test version was released that fixes a number of bugs and brings some changes.

New Features:

• Added automatic synchronization of the selected skin from the skin pack across devices
• Villagers now give players with the Hero of the Village effect discounts on their trades
• Added drops from pillagers during raids
• When a raid starts, its horn can be heard by all players in the current dimension
• Added an accessibility screen in settings
  • Enable text-to-speech for chat
  • Enable UI Screen Reader

Changes:

• Note: For new villages, developers had to change generation algorithms, which means old seeds may generate villages in different areas
• Wandering Trader is now available without Experimental Gameplay
• Villager professions have been completely updated
• Increased radii for job site blocks so villagers can reach them more often and get less angry
• Updated zombie villagers
• Updated the How to Play screen for help with the Village & Pillage update
• Improved pathfinding for villagers and iron golems
• Added an experience bar to the villager trading screen
• Villagers will now restock their trades immediately upon arriving at their workstation
• Villagers now hide in houses during raids and when bells ring
• Trading is now unavailable during raids
• Wandering Traders no longer restock their trades and will "disappear" after selling all their items
• Maps can now be locked using glass panes on a cartography table
  • Locked maps do not update to reflect explored areas or world changes
  • Unexplored areas will remain unexplored
  • Locked maps cannot be expanded, but can be copied

Bug Fixes:

• Fixed a crash when rejoining a world with the Ender Dragon in view
• Fixed a crash when opening a fletcher villager's chest in a taiga biome village
• Fixed a black screen that appeared after pausing/resuming the game on Android devices
• Template worlds using custom villager trades no longer cause the game to crash
• Fixed a crash when using invalid characters on signs
• Windows 10 players will no longer get an error about insufficient free space if the game was installed on a different drive and free space is available
• Hero of the Village is now granted for three in-game days (instead of one) after completing a raid
• Bells now ring during the raid preparation phase
• Players will no longer hang in the air near beds while sleeping
• Bad Omen now disappears after five in-game days, drinking milk, or dying in the game
• Lilies now generate in the world again
• Fixed villages that had no loot in chests
• Beds now generate more often in villages
• Villagers from version 1.10 worlds now convert to new villagers
• Villagers will no longer get stuck in composters
• Villagers now follow etiquette and close doors behind them
• Villagers no longer spend too much time at work
• Child villagers now go to bed earlier
• The villager you are trading with will no longer run away from the player if a raid starts
• Underwater mobs will no longer spawn on land
• Raiders now attack players and villagers that stand in their way to the village
• Evokers are now counted in the raid counter
• Fixed a white line that appeared on the librarian's shoulder
• Tamed cats now lie down next to their owner while sleeping
• Composters now have correct lighting
• Lamps can now be placed under stairs again
• Fixed broken particles from grindstones
• Blocks now play sounds when villagers work at them
• Fixed campfires that didn't look right when using HD textures
• Using CTRL + pick block (middle click) will no longer create a new bed with extra data
• Banners can now be copied again via the crafting table
• Players joining a world can now see dyed banners again and this will no longer cause a crash when viewing in inventory
• The output slot of an anvil now updates again when removing items from the input slot
• Bad Omen now shows the remaining time displayed on the effects screen
