Minecraft Bedrock to Get Mod API!
You may have noticed that the developers of Minecraft Bedrock have started releasing new versions of the game quite frequently? This is no coincidence, as Microsoft and Mojang are moving towards adding an official Mod API to Minecraft for Android, iOS, W10, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and VR, which will allow players to create modifications more similar to those in Java Edition.
Helen herself let it slip during a livestream, saying the following:
Mod API is something that will be officially in Bedrock...
So we can confidently say that mod support will now be 100% in the game. And thanks to cross-platform play, you'll be able to use the mod on almost any platform. Isn't that cool?
Moreover, it has been confirmed that the developers currently aim to release new versions of the game every month.

In my opinion, this is done precisely to speed up the release of the Mod API and reduce the number of bugs that may appear with its release. Perhaps the developers will first update the graphics engine to support shaders, and then we'll be waiting for the main update itself, which we've been waiting for since 2015.
Unfortunately, we'll only get official details at Minecon 2018, which will be held on September 29!
