Minecraft 26.40.20 [Beta]

Developers have released the Minecraft Beta & Preview 26.40.20 build. In this update, mobs released from a bucket no longer retain their previous state, many texture streaming issues are fixed, sulfur cube and minecart physics are improved, sulfur spikes now have their own sounds, and over 30 bugs are fixed.

Changes

• Potent Sulfur:
  • Can now erupt through flowing liquids.
  • Located after Sulfur instead of Polished Sulfur in the creative inventory.
• Sulfur Spikes now have their own dedicated block sounds and events.
• Updated hurt and death sounds for one of the chicken sound variants.
• Background music now stops when near a playing Jukebox.
• Player names now show as blue when in a party.
• Added an error message when adding an external server with an address and port that already exists.
• Water fog in Sulfur Caves is now more blue than green.
• Minecart entity separation now works as it did prior to version 1.21.0.
• Turtles can now be attached to Balloons with the EDU toggle on.
• The "Bounce" music disc can now be found in abandoned mineshafts when the "Villager Trade Rebalancing" experiment is enabled.
• Removed Realms Subscriptions from the Settings → Subscriptions page.
• Various Realms Hub improvements: tags moved to the left of the Information Panel, Admin Log icon added to the Community tab, fixed Side Panel spacing.

Bug Fixes

• Changing graphics mode when relaunching the game near an End gateway beam no longer causes a crash.
• Extended use of the Character Creator no longer causes a memory leak and crashes.
• Text field narration no longer restarts the label and description on every keypress.
• Text fields now narrate their content when editing is stopped via keyboard or gamepad.
• Sweet Berry Bush damage now produces closed captions.
• A ghost block is no longer created when simultaneously releasing crouch and placing a block on an interactive block (Decorated Pot, Item Frame, Chest).
• The "Low Cloud Storage" banner no longer briefly appears when duplicating worlds.
• Added a toast notification when the Character Creator fails to initialize on Realm join.
• Fixed missing localized text for the Follow Me, Over There, Simple Clap, and Wave emotes.
• Fixed missing Storage Location option in the New Storage Tab on Android devices.
• The Settings screen no longer displays a deprecated warning when enabling text-to-speech with an unsupported language selected.
• Guardian and Elder Guardian beams now render with their correct animated textures.
• End Crystal beams no longer appear as white cylinders.
• The enchantment glint effect no longer disappears from items over time.
• High resolution textures from Texture Packs no longer appear blurred.
• Anti-Aliasing is now applied when launching the game in fullscreen mode.
• Custom dimension fog color now matches the brightness depending on time of day.
• Cloud reflections in water no longer become unusually bright after switching to midnight time in Vibrant Visuals.
• Component-rendered custom blocks now show emissive/MER effects when held, dropped, or displayed in item frames and shelves in Vibrant Visuals.
• Fixed Shulker hurt sounds.
• Fixed Pillager celebrate sound.
• Fixed Panda sounds that referenced non-existent files.
• Main menu music now starts after the initial loading screen to prevent stuttering.
• Mobs from a bucket:
  • No longer retain the state they had before being captured.
  • No longer take accumulated fall damage.
  • Captured while on fire are no longer burning when released.
  • Captured while suffocating no longer take leftover suffocation damage.
  • Can immediately use a Nether portal again if captured shortly after using one.
  • No longer keep any status effects.
  • No longer immediately resume attacking their previous target when released.
  • No longer retain the movement they had when captured.
• Sulfur Cubes:
  • No longer push each other when placed on adjacent blocks.
  • No longer absorb a block in the player's hand from farther than 8 blocks away.
  • The item label for a Bucket of a named Sulfur Cube now includes its absorbed block.
  • With a block absorbed, can no longer freeze.
  • Fixed leashed cubes being incorrectly pulled by Leash Knots (which made it look like the Sulfur Cube lost gravity).
