Minecraft 26.30.05 [Release]

Summer Drop 2026 «Chaos Cubed» for Minecraft has been released. The update adds Sulfur caves with Sulfur Cubes, Sulfur and Cinnabar blocks, potent Sulfur with Geysers, and new music.

Sulfur Cube

A friendly, slime-like mob that lives in Sulfur caves. Details:

• Takes no fall damage.
• Splits into 2 small Cubes when killed.
• Small Cubes grow into large ones, like baby mobs.
• Is drawn to dropped blocks and can absorb a block, or the player can feed it a block by hand.
• Once it absorbs a block, it becomes stationary; it can't be hurt and instead gets knocked back when attacked.
• The stronger the hit, the farther the Cube flies.
• Shearing it with shears removes the block and returns the Cube to its normal state.
• Can be scooped into a bucket to be moved.
• Depending on the block it has absorbed, the Cube behaves differently:
  • Iron blocks make it heavy.
  • Wool makes it light.
  • Wood makes it bouncy.
  • Ice lowers friction, so the Cube slides.
  • TNT lets you ignite and blow it up.
  • Stone makes it bouncy, but it doesn't bounce far.
  • Magma makes the Cube deal damage on contact.

Sulfur and Cinnabar

Added two block sets with full variations. Details:

• Sulfur is a yellow block and Cinnabar is a red one, both from Sulfur caves.
• Full sets: stairs, slabs, walls, polished versions, bricks, and chiseled variants.
• They add rich yellows and reds to your builds.

Potent Sulfur

A special variety of Sulfur for creating bubbling pools and Geysers:

• Underwater, it releases bubbles and a cloud of noxious gas at the surface.
• Players and mobs get nausea in water near the block.
• Placed above Magma or lava beneath 1-4 blocks of water, it creates a Geyser.
• With Magma, the Geyser erupts roughly once every 50 seconds, launching entities upward for 4-5 seconds.
• With lava, the Geyser erupts continuously.
• Entities above the block are launched into the air but take no damage.

Sulfur Spike

A new pointed block that grows in Sulfur caves:

• Grows on Sulfur blocks.
• On the ceiling it forms a stalactite; on the floor, a stalagmite.
• Can be linked into long chains.
• Stalagmites break without support below them, and stalactites fall without support above them.
• A falling stalactite, or landing on a stalagmite, deals damage.
• Thrown tridents shatter the spikes.
• 4 spikes craft into a Sulfur block.

Music

Added new tracks by fingerspit:

• Added the music disc «Bounce».
  • It can be found in Minecart with Chest loot in the mineshafts of Sulfur caves.
• 5 new ambient tracks for the Overworld and main menu: «Memories», «Ebb», «Home», «Shores», and «Nightly».

Sulfur caves

A new underground Overworld biome. Details:

• A biome made of Sulfur and Cinnabar with glow lichen.
• Can be located by the Sulfur springs on the surface.
• Home to the cute and friendly Sulfur Cubes.

World Generation

Sulfur caves add new structures:

• Sulfur pools:
  • Greenish bodies of water with potent Sulfur on the bottom that causes nausea.
• Sulfur Spike clusters:
  • Groups of spikes growing on Sulfur blocks.
• Sulfur springs:
  • Clusters of Sulfur and stone with a pool on the surface that point to Sulfur caves below and contain Geysers.

Changes

• Updated the main menu panorama with a Chaos Cubed theme.
• Added cloud world storage on Windows.
  • You can upload worlds to the cloud and open them on any device (up to 256 MB per player).
• The «2026 Drop 2», «Furnace Recipe Book», and «Custom Projectiles» experiments no longer need to be toggled on.
• Texture streaming is on by default on supported platforms.
• A boss fog now appears in the End during the Dragon fight.
• Group chat is now shown directly in-game.
• Bees can now be pollinated, bred, and lured with chorus flowers and pitcher flowers.
• The attack rate of the Skeleton, Bogged, Stray, and Breeze now depends on difficulty rather than distance.
• Volumetric fog can be animated by time of day using keyframes.
• Added a panorama rotation speed slider in the video settings.
• You can switch between text fields with the Tab key.
• Realms hub improvements: icons, an updated welcome screen, and a Hardcore frame.
