Guide to Firework Rockets [Minecraft PE]

Making a rocket to then create a firework (fireworks display) in Minecraft will take quite a lot of time for an inexperienced player, and also consume a bunch of resources. Creating a rocket with shapes and colors in the game is indeed a complex task, but in this guide I will try to break it all down.

Before crafting the rocket, you need to create a material called a firework star.

How to get a firework star?

A firework star is an item that determines the color, shape, and effect of the firework explosion. You can only get a firework star through crafting, the creative inventory, or the '/give' command.

There are two types of firework star crafting.

In the first type, you create the material itself. You can add up to eight dyes for the firework explosion. You can also add any one head, gold nugget, feather, or fire charge for the explosion shape.

For convenience, I have hidden all the recipes under the spoilers below.

Additionally, you can add a diamond or glowstone dust to these recipes. A diamond will make the explosion larger, and glowstone dust will create a twinkle effect. The order of items in the crafting grid does not matter!

Don't rush to craft them separately, because you can combine diamond and glowstone dust to create a firework star with both a trail and twinkle!

The second type of crafting involves adding a color change to the explosion effect as the firework fades. For this craft, you need one firework star and up to eight dyes of any color. The craft itself looks something like this:

How to get a rocket?

Now we've reached the final stage of crafting and all that's left is to create the rocket itself. Use paper, gunpowder, and a firework star to create a rocket. You can place these items in the crafting table in any order.

For myself, I crafted a firework star from red dye, a creeper head, and added yellow dye for the fade effect. Here's what I got:

You can also increase the flight duration. Just add more gunpowder when creating the rocket (you can place up to three gunpowder). This way the rocket will fly longer and thus higher.

Or you can add more colors to the firework. You can add up to 7 different firework stars!

You can experiment and create fireworks of various colors and shapes!

How to fly faster with a rocket?

The rocket is used not only for creating fireworks, but also for fast flight with elytra.

Be sure to use an empty rocket, i.e., craft it without a firework star, otherwise it will explode and you will take damage!

Put on the elytra, climb somewhere high, and jump. Press the jump button to activate the elytra. Now you need to activate the firework. On Android or iOS, hold your finger on the screen; on Windows 10, press the right button.
