Wither [Minecraft PE Guides]

The Wither is one of the bosses in Minecraft, now available in Minecraft Pocket Edition since update 0.16.0.

Below you can see a list of exclusive features of the Wither in Minecraft Pocket Edition.

Exclusive to Minecraft PE:

• When spawned, it turns white and spins.
• At half health, it explodes (not as strongly as when spawned) and spawns wither skeletons.
• When defeated, it spins for a few seconds and explodes violently.

The Wither has 300 health points and deals high damage:

• Easy mode: 5 damage
• Normal mode: 8 damage
• Hard mode: 12 damage

Spawning

The Wither can be summoned using a special structure of soul sand and wither skeleton skulls, both in the Nether and the Overworld. All these items can be obtained in the Nether. Then you need to build the structure as shown in the screenshot below (the game difficulty must be above Peaceful).

It can also be summoned using the command: /summon wither.boss ~ ~ ~. Don't forget to enable cheats.

The boss appears immediately, spinning for a few seconds, then a small explosion occurs and the boss fully appears. It will attack you and fly only if you are in Survival mode.

The Wither can shoot explosive skulls that inflict the Wither II effect for 10 seconds on Normal difficulty or 40 seconds on Hard difficulty. This effect causes gradual health loss, like poison, but can kill, and it also heals the boss.

Tactics:

• Using a sword: use a sword enchanted with Smite and Knockback. This is especially useful after the boss loses half its health, when a bow becomes useless.
• Using a bow: for the first half of the fight, you can use a bow against the boss, but after that it becomes useless because the boss gains immunity to arrows.
• General tactic: wear armor enchanted with Protection to prevent the Wither effect. We recommend using only diamond armor and a diamond sword. Potions like splash potions of Healing are also useful against the boss.

We recommend building a long corridor 1x2 blocks wide, but don't forget to make a small room for summoning the boss. The Wither will have to break blocks to reach you. During this time, use a bow and arrows to damage it, but first back away to a distance of 25-40 blocks and slowly retreat.

To make the fight easier, you can also eat an enchanted golden apple. After defeating the Wither, you will receive a valuable item - the Nether Star, which is used to craft a beacon.

As we mentioned earlier, after death, the Wither spins for a few seconds and "inflates", then explodes, leaving a small crater and drops.
