Minecraft Beta 1.5.0.1 - What's New?

New features:

Bug fixes:

• Fixed several crashes that occurred during gameplay

• Trident thrown into Soul Sand blocks now place correctly

• Tridents thrown underwater no longer produce infinite bubbles

To craft a Conduit, you need eight Nautilus Shells and one Heart of the Sea.

To activate the Conduit, you need at least 16 blocks of prismarine, and the area around the Conduit must be empty water space.

In addition to Prismarine, you can use Sea Lanterns and Prismarine Bricks.

An activated Conduit gives the player underwater breathing, improved underwater vision, and increased mining speed underwater.

The effect range is 16 blocks for every seven blocks in the frame, though the effect does not activate until the structure has at least 16 blocks. Thus, for a frame of 16 blocks, the effect will extend to 32 blocks, 64 for 28, 80 for 35, and 96 for 42 blocks.

The full structure to activate the Conduit consists of 42 blocks and provides an additional benefit: it deals damage to hostile mobs within 8 blocks, dealing half a heart of damage every 2 seconds.
