MCPE 0.17.0 Release Date and the Future of the Game

With each update, Minecraft Pocket Edition becomes more and more like the PC version of the game. The developers are adding more and more new content that opens up new possibilities. In this article, we'll tell you about the potential new features in the upcoming game update 0.17.0!

At Minecon 2016, the developers demonstrated the first capabilities of the new modding in the game (so-called Add-ons). In addition to such mods, the developers plan to create a plugin system that will be built in the C# language.

At the moment, no one except the developers knows anything about the new version of the game, but we can already guess what will be in the new update:

• Extended modding capabilities using texture packs
• Plugins in the C# programming language
• Worlds with a height of 256 blocks
• Minecart with furnace
• Ability to load music (if music is already in the game, the game will weigh more than 150 MB)
• Jukebox
• Spectator mode, hardcore, and adventure mode
• Preparation for adding the End
• Stained glass
• Trading with villagers
• Polar bears
• Magma block, nether wart block, red nether brick, bone block
• Banners
• Armor stand
• Fossils

Fossils are structures that generate underground in some biomes. They have the shape of a skull and spine. Could these be the remains of some huge monster? Any bone block can be replaced with coal ore.

In addition, Minecraft PE will feature new mobs such as llamas, cartographer villager, evoker, vex, and vindicator, which appeared in the recent PC version update Minecraft 1.11 (https://minecraft.wiki/w/Java_Edition_1.11).

A new structure will generate: the woodland mansion. It generates in dark forests. It is a huge house with many rooms: bedrooms, studies, dining rooms, farms, prisons, and many other rooms.

In corridors, bedrooms, and studies, vindicators spawn; in dining rooms and the hall, evokers spawn.

The woodland mansion is truly huge, and you'll have to spend quite a lot of time fully exploring it.

We don't think the woodland mansion and everything related to it will appear in 0.17.0. Most likely, all this will be in subsequent versions. We'll keep you informed of all the news regarding the new version! =)
