No, Phantoms will remain in the game, even though some developers themselves find them annoying, but they believe players misunderstand hostile mobs.
The game has different cat breeds, will new dog breeds be added?
The developers like the idea of adding new dog breeds to the game. Possibly in the future.
Do Endermen have fur?
Endermen are not fluffy to the touch; rather, they are slimy and cold.
Will spiders get new behavior and mechanics in Minecraft 1.17?
In Minecraft 1.17 "Caves & Cliffs", spiders will not be updated and they will not be able to climb walls or shoot webs like in Minecraft Dungeons. The developers fear that such changes would make the game scary.
Why are Endermen's eyes purple?
The developers offered several theories:
- Endermen might be from the fourth dimension, and we perceive their eyes as purple.
- Endermen love "Prince — Purple Rain" (a music album by American singer and composer Prince).
- Endermen are fans of Taiga fashion.

The developers suggested that they might have descended from the same cave creature millions of years ago.
