Minecraft Beta 1.16.0.59 - What's New?

A new beta version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition Beta 1.16.0.59 has been released for Android, Windows 10, and Xbox One, in which developers fixed a number of bugs and made some changes!

The developers have finished adding content for the Nether Update and will now focus only on fixing bugs!

Crash Fixes and Stability

• Fixed a crash that occurred when trying to stack slabs into one slot

General

• Removed quotation marks from loading tips
• Fixed a bug where ambient sounds played too frequently in the Nether
• Renamed some blocks and their .json file names
• The "Change Emote" button no longer disappears on Android devices
• The letter "P" in the music disc name "Pigstep" is now capitalized
• Fixed the hitbox of the hopper
• The texture of Nether sprouts no longer exceeds the frame boundaries when rotated

Gameplay

• Mobs that spawn in caves are no longer considered surface mobs
• Added missing crafting recipes using Nether planks
• Fire now ticks correctly and can be extinguished by rain
• Added crafting recipe for chain
• Added fire sound for soul fire
• Gold ore can again be smelted in furnaces and blast furnaces
• Smelting ancient debris now gives the player experience
• Quartz bricks can now only be crafted from quartz blocks
• Polished basalt can now be crafted in a stonecutter
• Crafting polished basalt now gives the correct number of blocks
• Warped and crimson stems can no longer replace blocks when growing or generating
• Shields can now be dispensed and equipped on players
• The Fortune enchantment works correctly again
• Melons and pumpkins now grow if observer blocks are above them
• Fixed a bug where the Ender Dragon would regen health after death even if all end crystals were destroyed
• Fixed a bug where there were too many cats in villages

Mobs

• Hoglins no longer rotate when moving downwards
• Fixed a bug in 'MeleeAttackGoal' where mobs didn't attack while in a boat or minecart
• Adjusted spawn rates of Piglins, Hoglins, and Zombified Piglins
• Piglins now correctly equip golden armor if it is thrown near them
• Piglins holding a gold ingot now drop it if they get hit
• Fixed the leash position on baby Hoglins and Striders
• Zombified Piglins now take damage from fire
• Changed the 'fireimmune' attribute to be correct for some mobs
• Fixed the appearance of armor on wither skeletons
• Fixed a bug where a mob could catch fire if standing on another entity in lava
• Bees no longer get stuck under slabs
• Fixed the head size of baby Hoglins to match other baby mobs
• Mobs now correctly equip netherite armor
• Piglins and Hoglins can now spawn on Peaceful difficulty
• Piglins sitting in boats and minecarts no longer float in the air
• Endermen now spawn in Soul Sand Valleys
• Piglins and Hoglins now flee from Zoglins
• The transformation of Piglins into Zombified Piglins now plays the correct sound

World Generation

• Ruined portals in the Nether now consist of blackstone
• Fire charges can now be found in ruined portals
• Loot in ruined portals now matches Java Edition
• Ruined portals now spawn less frequently
• Updated loot in bastions
• Magma cubes now spawn in bastions
• Fixed a bug where walls did not connect during natural generation, for example in villages

Graphics

• Changed the spawn egg textures for Piglin and Hoglin to match Java Edition
• Fixed a bug where gold ingots held by Piglins were too small
• Piglin arms now swing correctly while walking
• Fire now burns with blue flames if it is on soul sand

User Interface

• Fixed a bug where the iOS keyboard overlapped the text input field in chat
