Bees in Minecraft!
Summer is ending and the developers are returning to work on the new Minecraft update. But today, unexpectedly, a new snapshot for Java Edition was published, which added bees to the game!
Snapshot 19w34a is the first snapshot for the 1.15 update and it's quite possible that many things will change in the future.
Bees
They are neutral mobs and really love flowers!
- Neutral towards players
- If a bee stings a player, it leaves its stinger in them and dies
- Bees love beautiful flowers and constantly collect pollen from them
- After collecting pollen, the bee returns to the hive
- Collecting pollen helps crops grow faster
- Bees can be bred using flowers
- Bees like to share the location of flowers with other bees
- If a bee can't find nectar, after a while it returns home for a short time
- If a bee has no hive, it will fly around until it finds one to settle in
- Bees don't like rain. At night they return to their hives and sleep

Bee Nests / Hives
Bees live in them, don't destroy their homes!
- Bee nests generate in flower forests, plains, and near sunflower fields
- The block's level increases when a bee returns to the hive/nest
- The maximum block level is five
- Bees use hives/nests to share the location of flowers with other bees
- Sometimes bees that already know about flowers will decide not to use this information
- Bee hives are crafted by players
- Use a tool with the Silk Touch enchantment to obtain the block and the bees inside it
- A bee nest will be destroyed if you don't use Silk Touch
- Use shears on a block at level five to get honeycomb
- Use an empty bottle to get a honey bottle
- A campfire calms bees. Place it under the hive/nest to make the bees sleep
- The blocks are redstone-friendly!

Note that bee hives/nests have five levels! Only at the fifth level (when honey drips from the block) can you get honey!

You can craft a hive using any type of planks and three honeycombs.

Honeycomb
Use shears on a bee hive/nest to get honeycomb!

Honey Bottle
Use an empty bottle to get honey from a hive/nest. This can only be done at the fifth level of the block!
A honey bottle restores hunger.

These were the main changes in this snapshot. You can explore the rest on the official game website Minecraft.Net.
It seems the developers are fully developing farming mechanics. What do you think about the new update?
