Minecraft Java Edition 1.14 Snapshot - What's New?
The first snapshot of the next major update 1.14 - "Village & Pillage" - has been released for Minecraft: Java Edition, which, unlike Bedrock 1.8, brings a lot of new content! At the time of writing, snapshot 18w43a has been released, but it only fixes some issues.
The first snapshot has the ID 18w43a, and the final version of the update will be ready next year. The screenshots below do not show all the new features!

Changes in 18w43b:
- Fixed some memory leaks
- Some textures needed updating and have been changed to new ones!
- Fixed some bugs
Changes in 18w43a:
- Added bamboo blocks
- Added bamboo jungles
- Improved book and quill editing
- Added crossbows!
- Added many new decorative blocks!
- Added new dyes and flowers!
- Added some community suggestions
- Updated the credits list
- Added in-game buttons to report bugs or provide feedback
- Added the Illager Beast
- Added the loom for banners
- Special banner patterns can now be created as a new item - banner patterns!
- Updated game textures!
- Added pandas!
- Added pillagers (marauders or raiders, final translation pending)!
- Added suspicious stew
The new version includes updated textures that are meant to "refresh" Minecraft!

Players have long asked for more decorative blocks in the game, and the developers delivered! Now Minecraft has a huge variety of blocks - new signs, walls, slabs, and stairs!

The loom block will speed up applying patterns to banners.

To quickly create a pattern, you need a banner, dye, and a pattern.
