Official Server Core Released!
After years of waiting, developers have finally published the first version of the official server core for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition! Now every player can create their own server for Mobile, Windows 10, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and VR!
To download the core, go to minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock. The core is available for Windows and Linux systems.

After downloading the archive, extract it to a separate folder. Then run the bedrock_server.exe file on Windows or the "./bedrock_server" command via Linux terminal.
Current features of the core:
- Compatibility with version 1.6
- Support for behavior packs and resource packs
- Configuration file
- Recipe customization
- Permission settings
- Console commands
- World backups
The core also supports custom recipes, which can be created in the /definitions/recipe/ folder.

Yes, this is a modest list of features. But remember, the core has just been released in alpha access.
More features will come with the Mod API, which may be shown at Minecon 2018!
For now, we recommend all interested users study the documentation that comes with the core and learn how it works if you want to create your own server for the game.
