The Summer Drop will be released on June 17
The 2025 summer drop Chase the Skies is launching on June 17 for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition. Players can look forward to a flying mount, new mechanics, crafting features, and even a graphical update exclusive to Bedrock Edition.
Happy Ghast
A friendly version of the ghast you can ride through the skies!
- Grown from a special Dried Ghast block, found in the Nether or crafted from ghast tears and soul sand.
- Once revived, feed it snowballs until it transforms into a Happy Ghast.
- Can carry up to 5 players at once.

Player Locator
Now you can always see where your friends are!
- Colorful dots appear where the XP bar is, along with arrows indicating elevation differences.
- You can crouch to hide your location from others.

Improved Leads
Leads are now more powerful and intuitive than ever.
- Craftable with just string.
- You can leash almost anything to anything, even boats to ghasts!
- Create long caravans of mobs to travel in style.

Craftable Saddles
Something players have wanted for years is finally here!
- Recipe: 3 leather and 1 iron ingot.
- You can now remove saddles using shears.

New Music and Sounds
The developers didn’t forget the new music players love with every update!
- A new music disc can drop from regular ghasts.
- Includes 5 new ambient tracks by Amos Roddy: Lilypad, Below and Above, O’s Piano, Broken Clocks, Fireflies, Tears.
- Available now on Spotify.

Graphics Update
The new Vibrant Visuals mode for Bedrock Edition brings realistic shadows, water reflections, glowing waterfalls, and immersive biome lighting.
