Balloon in Minecraft
The latest version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition brought the "Chemistry Update" from Education Edition into the game, and we've been asked very often "How do you make a balloon in Minecraft?", so we made this short guide.
First of all, enable Education Edition in your world or in the new world creation screen.
To make a balloon, we need the following:
- Element Constructor
- Crafting Table
- Any dye
- Lead
- Carbon (at least 30 pieces)
- Hydrogen (at least 48 pieces)
- Latex (at least six pieces)
If you're playing in Creative mode, just grab carbon and hydrogen from the inventory. These chemical elements will come in handy for further chemical experiments.
If you're playing in Survival mode, you can obtain these elements from, for example, wood. Place the wood in the "Material Reducer" block, but there's a catch!
It seems there are no recipes for the Lab Table, Material Reducer, Element Constructor, or Compound Creator. So you can only get these blocks through Creative mode.
In total, to make one balloon, you need 30 pieces of carbon and 48 pieces of hydrogen.
Now, in the Compound Creator, you need to create Latex, which requires five carbon elements and eight hydrogen elements. For one balloon, you need six of these latex items.
But while writing this guide, I ran into another problem. To make a balloon, you need helium, but I couldn't figure out which block to get it from.
So there are two ways to get helium: take it from the inventory in Creative mode, or create it using the Element Constructor:
Also, don't forget about the lead, which you can get by crafting (or from the Creative inventory):
Combine all the elements in the crafting table and you get a balloon! I used yellow dye and got a yellow balloon, but you can use any other dye.
You can attach the balloon to any animal, and you can also pop it with a bow!
