How to Use a Lightning Rod?
In Minecraft 1.17 "Caves & Cliffs", a new useful block will appear: the lightning rod, which will allow you to protect your builds from lightning strikes.
If you are playing the latest version of Minecraft Beta 1.16.210.57, don't forget to enable the experimental feature Caves and Cliffs in the world editing settings.
VIDEO GUIDE
The lightning rod is crafted from three copper ingots in a crafting table.

You need to place the lightning rod anywhere, but keep in mind that the lightning rod attracts all lightning strikes within an area of 64x64x64 blocks in Minecraft Bedrock and 32x4x32 blocks in Minecraft Java.

Now the lightning rod will attract lightning during thunderstorms and protect your builds from catching fire!

Interesting facts:
- Lightning rods can be placed facing different directions.
- A trident with the Channeling enchantment, when thrown at an entity, creates lightning on the nearest lightning rod.
- The lightning rod emits a redstone signal when struck by lightning, which can be used to create new mechanisms.
