Minecraft 1.3: What's Coming?
One of the most popular games Minecraft is almost seven years old, and the developers are still releasing updates and supporting their game! What will be in the next update of Minecraft Bedrock for Android, iOS, Windows 10, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch?

C# Plugins
No, these aren't server plugins, but an alternative to mods for Minecraft Bedrock that will work on Android, iOS, Windows 10, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This system was first shown at Minecon 2016 and was supposed to come out in January, but it seems Mojang and Microsoft's plans have changed, so plugin support is now slated for 1.3.
What is a plugin? As many know, the game already has a mod system called Add-ons, but it doesn't really allow interaction with the game. However, C# plugins with just a few lines of code can do a lot, and here's a list of possible features:
- creating mobs
- creating blocks and items
- interacting with the world

Overcoming the Block ID Limit
Yes, currently the game has a limit on the maximum number of blocks, and there are only 255. In the new update, developers will radically overhaul the entire block system, so IDs will become even larger.
Okay, what does this give us? For starters, mods will have more possibilities and won't conflict due to identical block IDs. And most importantly, in future versions, developers will be able to add new dungeons, biomes, dimensions, so this is really cool!
Updated Textures
Jasper Boerstra (Twitter) works as a pixel artist at Mojang and is updating all textures for Minecraft.
Update 1.3 Release Date
Initially, update 1.3 was supposed to come out on November 7, but now that date has been pushed back to early 2018.
