The Nether Update is Coming This Summer
Helen Chang, head of Mojang Studios, announced that the release of the "Nether Update" version 1.16 for Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition will happen this summer for Windows, Windows 10, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and VR!
She also reported that the number of downloads of various free educational add-ons from the Bedrock marketplace since their release (March 24) has exceeded 50 million downloads, total sales of Minecraft have surpassed 200 million copies, and more than 126 million players play the game monthly!
In addition, in honor of Minecraft's birthday on May 17, Mojang presented an updated company logo and a new name - Mojang Studios, since the company has two studios - in Redmond and Stockholm, and also includes other employees working in different regions of the world.
