Minecraft 1.2 Beta 8 - What's New?

Finally, after a long silence, the developers have released a new beta: Minecraft 1.2 Beta Build 8. A truly huge amount of work has been done, and the game overall should now be more performant. You can download the new version on the special download page - Minecraft 1.2 test version, and below you can check out the changelog.

Changelog for Minecraft 1.2 Beta 8:

• It is now easier to see underwater when drinking a Potion of Water Breathing and a Potion of Night Vision.
• Rebalanced most game sound effects and music. Sounds like rain are now much quieter.
• Added sound effects when placing Eyes of Ender on End Portal frames.
• The recipe book can now be toggled on and off when using the classic interface.
• Optimized block generation and rendering.
• Improved performance when launching fireworks created with a large ball and a star.
• Redstone components can now be placed on observer blocks again.
• Fixed world conversion (Xbox One only).
• Fixed item duplication in Survival mode when using the pocket interface and touch controls.
• Improved performance of redstone circuits (Xbox One only).
• Fixed several crashes that occurred when split-screen players joined, left the game, or signed out of Xbox Live (Xbox One only).
• Fixed a crash when deleting a world that contained non-Latin characters in its name.
• Fixed cloud rendering through glass.
• Falling into a single block of water no longer deals damage.
• Players can now invite friends to servers.
• Fixed various bugs with navigation maps.
• Fixed the interface scale slider (Android).
• Spiders on the ceiling can now attack players.
• Fixed language display in the language selection window.
• Clicking the "How to Play" button in Creative mode will now display information about Creative mode.
• Beds that have been exploded will no longer leave an invisible block in the world.
• Fixed a bunch of other bugs and improved game performance!

If you play on Windows 10 or just use the classic mode, the button to hide the recipe book can be very useful!
