Minecraft 1.2 Beta 6 - What's New?
The developers continue working on bug fixes and improvements for Minecraft 1.2 and today released a new beta version of the update. You can download the new test version here, and below you can check out the full list of changes.
List of changes:
- Custom skins are working again!
- Changed several graphical elements in the recipe book to improve navigation.
- Hostile mobs will no longer spawn on top of glowstone blocks.
- Water bottles can now be placed in the brewing stand again when using the pocket interface.
- Fixed a bug with skin scrolling.
- Empty armor slot indicators now display in the armor tab of the recipe book.
- Improved performance of the recipe book.
- The crafting toggle now appears in all tabs of the recipe book in survival mode.
- 3x3 item recipes now appear in the recipe book, but have a red background if they cannot be crafted.
- The crafting output window in survival mode now shows the number of items being crafted.
- Empty maps can now be created using the recipe book.
- Pressing the X button in the search bar will clear the query.
- Fixed a crash on the storage screen.
- Fixed a crash when the player opened the settings screen after loading content from the marketplace.
- Fixed the fishing rod hook animation.
- Banners no longer appear black in multiplayer.
- Fixed various bugs with armor stands.
- Horses will no longer take damage when adding a saddle after taming.
- Jumping, falling from heights, and climbing ladders will no longer interrupt sprinting.
- Fixed some other bugs and improved game optimization.

On Android, after the update, with a render distance of 16 chunks, FPS stays stable at 30-35.

Enabling the Plutonium mode option in video settings increased the frame rate to 40-50.
