Parrots in Minecraft Pocket Edition?
Maria Lemon, one of the Mojang employees and a Minecraft developer, kept information about the new mob she had been working on for the past few months under wraps. Many players assumed it would be a duck, but Maria refuted that, and today she announced that the new mob is parrots of the Ara genus!
Parrots can be found in jungle biomes and can also be tamed. This is really cool, and we definitely look forward to these birds appearing in Minecraft Pocket Edition as well!
Information about parrots in Minecraft so far:
? - unconfirmed information.
- live in jungle biomes
- can be tamed
- have several color variations: red-blue-yellow, lime, blue-yellow, and yellow-blue.
- possibly (?) tamed parrots will attack with their wings
- parrots with babies will protect their offspring (?)
In MCPC (PC version), parrots will appear in the next snapshot next week, as Maria Lemon also reported.

There is no information about when these birds will appear in Minecraft Pocket Edition. But hopefully it will happen very soon.
