Minecraft PE 1.17.10.21

Developers have published a fresh beta version Minecraft 1.17.10.21 for Windows 10 and Xbox One, skipping Android players this time. The update fixes bugs, adds several changes for equality with the Java Edition and improves the stability of the game.

Update 1.17.10.21 will not be available for Android. Multiplayer with the previous beta version 1.17.10.20 is still compatible with this version.

• Fixed a crash that occurred when the block was destroyed when the Caves and Cliffs option was enabled
• Diamond ore is now generated again with the correct distribution
• Glowing lichen now falls out only when destroyed with scissors
• Frozen ice can now be used in any command that accepts a block (/setblock, /testforblock, and so on)
• Updated documentation for DisplayNameItemComponent
• Fixed the cost of removing enchantments from items when using a Grindstone
• The text on the illuminated plates now has an outline
• The black text on the plates can now be illuminated with a glowing ink bag
• Tooltips are now displayed when holding Ink bags and Glowing ink bags when using the controller
• The Ink Bag and the Glowing Ink Bag can no longer be used indefinitely on tablets in adventure mode
• The player can no longer color the text on the plates in adventure mode
• Underwater fog again depends on the biome
• Pumpkins are again accepted by farmers
• Small sea turtles no longer disappear after hatching
• The Reset to default values button in Accessibility settings now resets the Text background opacity slider
• Mining in Bastions now corresponds to Java Edition
• Goats can now continue to attack with a battering ram on blocks of slime and honey

Technical changes

• Chunks updated from old worlds formats will not be automatically saved when loaded, but when changed (e.g., via blocks or actors) they will be marked for saving
• Horse rendering and animation are now completely data driven
• Added thenExecuteFor to GameTestSequence, which repeatedly calls a callback for the specified number of ticks
