Minecraft 1.17.0.56

The new version Minecraft PE 1.17.0.56 has been released for Android phones and tablets. This update includes bug fixes and improved stability for the “Caves and Cliffs” update. Below is a detailed list of changes in this version.

User Interface

• Added a warning when loading an old world with experimental features in a newer version of the game
• Added a badge indicating that a world contains experimental features
• Added descriptions of experimental features on the world creation screen

Axolotls

• Axolotls no longer attack invisible mobs
• Updated axolotl textures
• Axolotls bred in buckets now retain their color after being placed

Aquifers

• Lava-filled aquifers now generate underground during world creation

Lightning Rod

• Lightning hitting a lightning rod no longer triggers skeleton traps or spawns skeleton horses

Spyglass

• A tooltip now appears when using a controller to indicate spyglass usage

Amethysts

• Amethyst buds and cluster breaking animations no longer float in the air
• Amethyst geodes now generate slightly less frequently

Azalea

• Azalea and Flowering Azalea bushes now correctly grow into trees when bonemeal is used on moss blocks

Dripstone

• Mobs can once again pathfind around stalactites and stalagmites

Glow Squid

• Glow squids now properly disappear when removed via commands
• Using the “Pick Block” function on a glow squid in Creative now gives a spawn egg

Powder Snow

• Textures are now applied isotropically
• Certain blocks can no longer be placed on snow layers
• Fences and walls no longer connect to powder snow
• The fog effect no longer applies to the third-person camera unless the camera is inside powder snow
• Powder snow blocks no longer turn invisible if the player is being extinguished by powder snow and another source at the same time
• Fixed solid edges that mobs were getting stuck on

Bug Fixes

15 bugs were fixed.

• Skeletons transforming into Strays now play proper transformation sounds
• The Wither no longer takes damage from powder snow
• Bees can no longer collect nectar from sweet berry bushes
• Iron and gold ore now drop the correct blocks
• Fixed a bug causing enchanted bow textures to appear too dark
