Minecraft 1.26.0.02 [Release]
Developers have released Minecraft 26.0. This update introduces a new year-based version numbering system, updated baby animal models and textures, adds name tag crafting, new nautilus swimming animations, and fixes over 30 bugs.
Known Issues
- The MERS texture of the tamed Wolf is currently a placeholder and will be updated in a future update.
- Adult Wolf sound variants are currently not working as expected and will be fixed in a future release.
Changes
Preparation for the Spring 2026 drop. Highlights:
- Introduced a new version numbering system.
- Version numbers in the year 2026 for both Bedrock and Java Edition now begin with '26'.
- Added experimental toggle for Drop 1 of 2026.
- Name Tags are now craftable using paper and any metal nugget.
- Using a Spawn Egg on the corresponding Mob now spawns the Baby form of that Mob.
- Updated the models and textures of baby Cows, Mooshrooms, Pigs, Wolves, Rabbits, Cats, Ocelots, Chickens, and Sheep.
- Both adult and baby Rabbits received new animations.
- Baby Pigs, Cats, and Wolves now have a unique set of sounds.
- Improved swimming animations for all three Nautilus variants.
- Bamboo Stalks no longer pop in as obviously.
- From a distance they have no transparency (like Sugar Cane and Cactus) unless on Simple graphics.
- Creators can now use command macros.
- Added 10 new key mappings with Alt + chosen key for quick command execution.
- Upgrade from UWP to GDK no longer causes corrupt skin states.
- Android Photo Picker is now used instead of requesting media permissions.
- Classic skins equipped within the marketplace now appear in game after exiting the marketplace.
- Cached appearances now load while offline.
- Cached appearance is preferred over random skin.

Bug Fixes
All fixes from test builds have been carried over.
