Minecraft 26.40.31 [Beta]

The developers have released the Minecraft 26.40.31 beta. It's a small update with 3 bug fixes and one networking technical update.

Bug Fixes

3 bugs fixed. Here's the rundown:

• Fixed several crashes that could occur during gameplay.
• Arrows of Harming no longer bounce off entities and are now correctly removed on hit.
• Fixed an incorrect device tier being selected on some devices, which prevented players from turning on Vibrant Visuals.

Technical Updates

Added 1 technical update. Here's the rundown:

• When connecting to a dedicated server, the client probes the server for NetherNet support with a 3-second timeout. WinHTTP didn't honor this timeout when the client connected by URL instead of IP, the host's DNS record contained multiple IP addresses, and the server sat behind a firewall that dropped the probe TCP packets instead of responding with an RST. In that case, instead of an overall 3-second timeout, WinHTTP enforced a timeout of 3 seconds multiplied by the number of IP addresses in the DNS record. This has been fixed by enforcing an overall 3-second timeout.
