Minecraft 1.21.120.24

A new version of Minecraft Beta & Preview 1.21.120.24 has been released. In this test update, Copper Chest textures were improved, graphics were reworked, new interface settings were added, and many bugs were fixed.

Changes

• Added unique ambient sound effects when the player is underwater.
• Marketplace content can now be searched using RTX and Vibrant Visuals filters.
• Updated the textures of Gray, Light Blue, Light Gray, and Green dyes.
• The "General Settings" screen has been redesigned.
• Items can now be moved to empty hotbar slots using their corresponding hotkeys.

Vanilla Parity

• The textures of Chests and Saddles on Llamas, Donkeys, Mules, and Horses (Skeleton and Zombie) now match Java Edition.
• Updated how water absorbs light:
  • Instead of reducing light by 2 units per block, water now only reduces light by 1 unit.
  • As a result, Drowned mobs will spawn less frequently in shallow water and rivers.
  • This feature is experimental and available only in Preview.

Bug Fixes

• The glint direction on Double Copper Chest textures now matches Single Copper Chests.
• Bolts on Single and Double Copper Chests are now shaded consistently.
• Double and Single Copper Chests now have consistent shading.
• Weathered Double Copper Chest bottom textures are now consistent with other chests.
• The Shield no longer takes damage when mining.
• Knockback from projectiles no longer applies when blocking with the Shield.
• Fixed missing pixels on the Drowned’s body texture.
• Fixed the incorrect color on the top of the Donkey’s ear.
• Fixed missing pixels on Copper, Iron, Gold, and Diamond Horse Armor textures.
• The empty Chest Armor slot and empty Bottle background in the Brewing Stand now match their item textures.
• Fixed an issue with color grading in Vibrant Visuals that caused inverted white balance.
• The Absorption effect is now removed immediately after all golden hearts are lost.
• The Drowned’s right arm and overlay layer no longer intersect with its chest.
• On PlayStation 4, downloads are now stored in a new location. Players may need to re-download Marketplace content.
• Fixed an issue that caused excess critical hit particles to spawn.
• Fixed misplacement of custom blocks in the Structure Block preview GUI.
• Fixed an issue where it was not possible to create a new world from a template on Windows Preview.
• Fixed an issue where keyboard input would not register if the game window was unfocused while loading a world.
