Minecraft 0.7.3

The test version Minecraft 0.7.3 alpha contains new visual effects and a menu panorama, adds double chests and quartz slabs, and also includes many fixes.

Changes

• Added sun, moon, stars, sunrise and sunset.
• Improved title screen.
• Splashes.
  • Added 309 splashes. See /Splashes.
• Menu panorama.
  • The menu panorama uses seed 2151901553968352745 in Java Edition Beta 1.7.3 at coordinates (61, 75, -68).
• Pocket Realms improvements.
  • Realms can be reset.
• Double chests.
  • When chests are put together, items previously in the left chest appear in the bottom half.
  • Items from the right chest also appear in the top part.
  • This may cause a loss of items.
  • Chests now have an open/close animation.
  • The player can open chests in creative, but not view their contents; they will immediately close.
• Quartz slabs.
• Added more friction when flying in Creative Mode (iOS).
• Wooden slab material changed from stone to wood.
  • Wooden slabs stored from before 0.7.3 are tagged as "Fake Wood Slab" and drop regular wooden slabs when mined.
• When creating a new world, the default name shows "My World".
• Mobs now light on fire under sunlight.

Java Parity

• The menu panorama uses seed 2151901553968352745 in Java Edition Beta 1.7.3 at coordinates (61, 75, -68).
• Unlike Java Edition, the panorama pictures are blurred directly instead of as an overlay.

Fixed Bugs

• Wooden slab hard to break with an axe.
• Too long descriptions.
• Sword freezes chest.
• Chests rotate when placing a solid block directly in front of them.
• Hitting Backspace in a sign activates Shift on the keyboard.
• Inventory bug when throwing items in hand while in a GUI.
• Glowing obsidian can yield resources with an iron pickaxe, while obsidian can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe.
• Cake takes away buckets along with milk.
• Chat freezes.
• Typing in chat gets blocked by the [DONE] button and capital letters.
• Items in the crafting window get messed up.
• If monsters burn because of sunlight, they have no burn animation.
• Furnace crash bug.
• No fire animation on zombies.
• GUI circle size is too small.
• Repeatedly being logged out of Realms.
• No fire animation for night-time mobs when they come in contact with sunlight.
• Chests cannot be placed next to other chests.
• Armor glitch.
• No text below the version.
• Non-Realms world creation glitch.

Technical Changes

• Stopped building the game with typeinfo enabled (iOS).
