Minecraft 0.7.0 Alpha for Android — a major update featuring new items and blocks, a redesigned interface, the addition of Pocket Realms, and numerous fixes.

Changes

• Main menu redesigned:
  • Background — blurred image of the world.
  • “Play on Realms” button added to the center.
  • “Start Game” button replaced with “Play”.
  • Copyright and version number repositioned.
• World selection and creation menus updated.
• New options added: D-pad size, render distance, smooth lighting, fancy sky, animated water, and HUD hiding.
• HUD can now be hidden in settings.
• Chat: a separate button for player communication.
• Smooth lighting with shadows and glow (can be disabled in settings).
• Chickens now lay eggs; chance of a chick — 1 in 8, chance of four chicks — 1 in 254.
• Alpha version of the official service for private servers.
  • World creation available starting June 10 (Android only).
• Cake (a food block that can be eaten).
  • Crafting: 3 buckets of milk, 2 sugar, 1 egg, and 3 wheat.
• Bucket (crafted from iron ingots).
• Bucket with water, lava, and milk.
• Saddle (no functionality yet, unavailable in Survival).
• Spawn eggs: chicken, cow, pig, sheep (Creative only).
• Flint and steel (can be used to light fires).
• Eggs are now used for cake crafting and can occasionally spawn a chicken.
• Lava ignites nearby blocks and has a new animation.

Fixes

• Dyes now render correctly in hand.
• Water animation now appears on iOS.
• Bows now break when fully used up.
• Fixed seed input on certain devices.
• Torch and door placement corrected.
• TNT explosions no longer destroy paintings.
• Fixed crash when multiple players used signs simultaneously.
• World names are no longer cut off.
• Fixed lava spread bug (now 3 blocks from the source).
