Minecraft 1.21.110.20 [Beta]

The developers have released Minecraft Beta and Preview 1.21.110.20 update! This update introduces shelves, copper golems now turn into statues when fully oxidized, and updated dye icons!

Shelves

A new decorative block. Details:

• 13 variants:
  • Oak
  • Spruce
  • Birch
  • Jungle
  • Acacia
  • Dark Oak
  • Mangrove
  • Cherry
  • Pale Oak
  • Bamboo
  • Crimson
  • Warped
• Crafted from 6 matching blocks of stripped logs, stems, or stripped bamboo blocks.
  • The recipe gives 6 shelves.
• Holds up to 3 item stacks.
  • Interacting with any of the three front slots swaps the item in the player's main hand with the slot's content.
  • All items in the shelf are displayed on its front, like an item frame.
• Items are visible on the front face, similar to item frames.
• When powered by Redstone, its texture changes. Up to 3 shelves can connect.
  • Interacting with one connected shelf swaps its contents with the 3 rightmost hotbar slots.
  • Two connected shelves swap with the 6 rightmost hotbar slots.
  • Three connected shelves swap with all items in the hotbar.
  • It doesn't matter which of the connected shelves you interact with.

Copper Golem Statue

• If a Copper Golem is fully oxidized, it turns into a Copper Golem Statue block.
• The statue freezes in a random pose.
• The golem drops its held item upon transforming.
• If it was named with a name tag, the name is retained.

Changes

Various improvements for a better gameplay experience. Details:

• The "Drop 3" experiment has been removed — its features are now available in regular worlds.
• The '/camera' command no longer causes a crash with certain parameters.
• Copper Golem:
  • Interacting with an empty hand drops its held item.
  • Now interacts with trapped chests.
  • Unwaxing or scraping with an axe reduces axe durability.
  • Saved by Totem of Undying, it no longer becomes passive.
  • Chest interaction animation no longer continues while panicking.
  • Sorts items with different names together.
  • Sorts items regardless of durability.
  • Sorts bundles of the same color together.
  • Chest interaction sounds now match the animation.
  • Turns its head to look at the player.
• Dye icons have been updated.
• Some blocks that previously only caught fire with Flint and Steel can now ignite from explosions.
  • For example, stone slabs or wooden stairs.
• Glass blocks can now catch fire from Flint and Steel or explosions.
• Hostile mobs can spawn in copper armor and use copper weapons.
• Editor structures now save to the /structures folder in the world directory.
• Improved portal transition behavior and sleep animation.
• Updated fog visuals, particle glow, improved rain, portal effects, shadows, and object visibility.
• Hostile mobs can now spawn in copper armor.
• Hostile mobs can equip and use copper tools and armor.
• Realms:
  • A new Edit World page is available.
  • Go to the Realms tab, click "Settings", then "Slots". Select a world and click "Edit World" to access the new design.
  • You can switch between old and new designs at any time.
  • Resource and behavior packs are still configured via the old interface.

Bug Fixes

Over 20 fixes. Highlights:

• Copper Chest lid now has a copper texture.
• Double Copper Chests now have a front groove.
• Entities no longer appear halfway outside Nether portals after teleporting.

• Sleep animation no longer plays before the player lies in bed.

• Camera command no longer crashes when using the in_out_back method.
• Grass in swamps is no longer overly bright.
• Water placed on buttons or levers can now be removed again.
• Paintings no longer break upon entering multiplayer games with low latency.
• Updated volumetric fog configs on PC for consistent performance and quality.
• Wolves no longer begin shaking off water if already doing so.
• Added subsurface scattering support for particle textures.
• Vibrant Visuals:
  • Fixed glowing rain and snow above light sources.
  • Fixed Nether Portal fullscreen effect appearing black.
  • Max render distance on PC increased to 28.
  • Fixed missing light in particles from broken blocks.
  • Thicker block selection wireframe for better visibility, especially with TAAU.
  • Fixed desaturated chests in hand.
  • Fixed desaturated visuals for attachables like bows.
• Fixed missing vanilla mob flame textures.
• Leaf whitening in snow now displays properly upon world load and in custom biomes.
• Unlit candles and cake candles now cast shadows.
